OUR KENYAN KIDS
A Canadian Charity - Registration # 810593012RR0001
Our Kenyan Kids
was founded by Douglas A. Warren (a Minister at
Wall Street United
Church in Brockville, Ontario)
following a vacation to Kenya in 2004. Since then, Our
Kenyan Kids has grown into its own corporation and registered
charity, addressing the needs of poor and sick children in Kenya. Our
Kenyan Kids focuses its efforts mostly in the in the slums, in the
Westlands district of Nairobi, the districts of Embu & Mwingi, and
the district bordering the Kibera slum in Kawangware. Currently
there are approximately 200 impoverished children and families who
benefit either directly or indirectly from Our Kenyan Kids'
programs. The objectives of Our Kenyan Kids’ programs are to relieve
poverty, distress and suffering and to improve public health in
Kenya and elsewhere.
All
of Our Kenyan Kids’ programs are based on the belief that healthy,
well nourished, well educated children are empowered; and
empowerment offers these children the best chance of breaking their
cycle of poverty and leading productive lives.
Our Kenyan Kids believes that it is
possible to make a difference one child at a time.
